If you have an energy drink before smoking weed, can it make you hallucinate?

Last night my friend went to the hospital because she was hallucinating and running around screaming. Before this she had an energy drink and had smoked weed early that day and that night after the energy drink. Could this have been why she had the hallucinations? She had smoked weed before and none of this happened.
