What makes voters in Weiner's district think that their Weiner will never lie to them?

Put on your simple logic caps here for a minute and work with me. The Weiner spends 10 days lying about the twits of his junk and smearing those who have told the truth the whole time. Yet his constituents he's a heckuva guy. What gives them the confidence that their Weiner will never do to them what he did to the media and the nation as a whole for 10 long days?
